I have an old Merc 110 (9.8 hp) from the 60s. This has a rubber grip on the twist throttle. This slips when the throttle is turned, and slips right off the handle. I tried gluing it with some marine adhesive / sealer (looks and acts like silicone) and it didn't really work.

Any ideas?

Try johnson/evinrude type 'M' sealer, now called something else.It is a hardening sealer.Silicone has its places, but not there,or near gas or oil.
DHP
