two different kinds of coils

According to what I could find online and what the local parts guy is telling me.

The coils that I have on my 1974 90 hp is no longer available.

I have two different kinds on it now. Is that going to be an issue?

I have 2 different part numbers on my coils for a 1984 75hp 3 cyl and have no electrical issues what so ever. The original coil was no longer available so the marina gave me ones, "just like the original."

it had 3 of the old ones and one crappy install of the newer one.

I fixed the wires on the new one, and had to install another new one and now I can't get WOT.
