Two OMC Questions

1988 Bayliner 2556 w/5.7(350). I have installed the pertronix ignitor II and Ignitor II coil w/ the "diode fix". I am hooked to the resistor wire and not having problems at this time. But I see many posts on these boards that say it should be hooked to direct 12v. Any comments?

Next question. I have seen a couple of posts about eliminating the ESA system and wiring the interruptor switch to ground and the negative side of the coil. Anybody out there try this yet?

Nope...I was about to do the diode fix as well, but I found out the CDI makes a ESA module that works with electronic ignition so I got that instead...I also got the pertronix ignitorII and FlamthrowerII and put it in...
