I've already posted a couple questions about my (new to me) 1975 Evinrude 115. I'm sorry if I should have just posted my questions in a single thread, but I can't seem to remember them all at once!

Anyway, should I use higher octane gas with this older two stroke?

Regular unleaded, unless you like spending boat dollars on gas.....

Several Evinrudes of the 1970's era required premium leaded gasoline. Not for the lead, but for the octane. But I don't think the 115 was one of them.

Good to know! I’ll start another thread if needed - but do you know which do have this requirement?

Got it!

It’s in the repair manual - nice. 89 pump posted octane leaded fuel.

Thanks!

But thats for your motor, not guitarplaya's 1975 115hp, correct?

thats why its important not to post questions about your motors in someone else's topic.

Correct. Sorry about that.

went back to try and edit the post and it’s not an option.
