The Gimble ring on my 1979 Silverline/ Merc 228 / type 1(165) sterndrive/ is shot. I have located an 1984 transom plate/ gimble / bell housing that is in good shape. Will my sterndrive and transom plate both work if I use the 84 stuff as a replacement?
