Type 400 and Type 479 Cables

I have a 93 30hp Johnson with tiller controls. I ordered a simplex control box from ebay not realizing there was a difference between the two. So I have a control box that takes the type 400 cables that are pre '79. My question is will the type 400 cables connect to my motor and have do I need to get to make the connection?
