Ok I think it is safe to use in a 2000 30HP 2 stroke Yamaha.

My seals below my water pump have failed. (Atleast I think these are the seals) TRhe oil gets milky after a summer of 100-200 miles.

So I bought new seals this year, and I amm going to replace them.

My question is, after replacing them, is Type C lower unot oil ok to use in the lower unit of a 30HP Yamaha?

It says 75W on the side with some "Anti Rust addititive"

My local "NAPA" type store only had Type C oil.

I can mix it with left overs from the last couple of years. Of 75W90 lower unit oil.

What is Type C, and what is the difference?

Re: Type C lower unit oil.

Type "C" lower unit lube is for electric shift models.

Don't use it.

Don't mix anything....drain completely and refill with the clean oil.

75W-90 GL-5 is the stuff you want.
Or 90W hypoid gear oil.

LubriMatic premium Type C lower unit gear lube is intended for use with outboard motors and stern drives with electric shift mechanisms. Works extremely well with Johnson and Evinrude outboards manufactured from 1962-1972, OMC stern drive models dated 1977 and earlier, and other Type-C applications. LubriMatic lubricants will not void manufacturer warranties. Available in 10 ounce tubes and full quarts.
