Hello,im new to the forum and any help would be greatly appreciated. Im working on my volvo penat sx m and had a problem with gimble bearing. When I removed the sterin drive the bearing came out stuck to the shaft. I was told by the previous owner the gibmle bearing went bad from lack of lubrication and it was replaced by a backyard mechanic. They said there was a small crack in the hosing were the u joint bellows attaches with clamp so they used some type of exopy are jb weld. I started removing the exopy and so far see a small crack at the oustide of the housing. The bellows clamp is at the other end so im hoping i idont have to remove engine and replace the housing. On the housing there is two grooves were the bellows seals. Those grooves were filled with the exopy. I think this made the bellows not seal completely. Im in the process of cleaning the grooves. Does this seem like it might work? And does the lip on the inside of bellows go in the first are second groove? Thanks for any help.
