I am in the process of fixing to replace me u joints in my 3.0 mericruiser. I looked at some threads and noticed a list of part numbers that cross referenced to the automotive side of things. I'm trying to go as inexpensive as possible but also to do the repair correct the first time. One of the part numbers was presion 315g. When I crossed referenced it with the OEM part there seems to be a difference in size. The OEM is bigger (L 3.63 w 1.75) and the set of cross referenced parts on the automotive side is a bit smaller ( L 2.1) Will they still work or do I need to locate new part numbers? my boat info is 1995 searay 175 with a 3.0 lx ...serial number

Unless I'm missing something you can't use a u joint if it's not the same size as the the oem 1.

The automotive usually list the length by the size of the trunnion. Maybe the OEM are measuring with the cups on.
