Uflex rotech steering system where a dual cable steering was?

I want to put a new steering system on my boat. I've got a 81 mercury black max 175hp outboard with the dual cable steering on my 79 glastron cvx-20 sprint. I was looking at the Ulfex Rotech steering systems. Mine has the wrong steering wheel and rusted steering cables so the steering is tough and sloppy. The wrong steering wheel doesn't fit right and the box/cables are some old morse brand stuff.

Will this work just fine with my outboard? I notice it's a single cable kit instead of a dual like I have now, but I don't see any reason why a single cable system wouldn't work. Both of my dual cables pivot the motor at the same point so I think it's redundant more than anything. But I just want to find out if that's a no-no or not. Seems I can replace the whole steering system for less money than just replacing the old cables.

Yes and no;). Lot of torque there. You might want to look at a no feed back system.;) Next one down on the link.

thanks for the tip. I did some more reading and it seems you are right in that I should do a zero feedback system.
