Who knows what it is about a boat that catches our eye and causes that reaction we call beauty? It could be the lines, the proportions, or just the way we saw her in the still waters of a sunset? I don't know, but I know it's different for all of us. It's "in the eye of the beholder".
But what I wonder about is the ugly ones? Do we mostly agree about those? Did those ungodly monstrosities of fiberglass and gelcoat ever sparkle in anyone's eye? Or does the builder stand back and say, "What was I thinking?"
I don't want to call anybody's boat "ugly". That would be cruel and would probably cause ill will. But I would like to know if you can think of a boat, and add a picture if you can, that you consider hideous.
If you think all boats are a thing of beauty, I understand. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. But if you've see alot of boats, you might remember the exception.
The first boat that comes to mind for me is a sailboat called the Buccaneer, built by Bayliner. 27 footer. Ugh! Not the only Bayliner mistake, but definitely one of the worst! (I'll try to get a pic.)
