Hey everyone,
We have had wicked bad storms lately. I got home this morning and noticed my boat had tipped up. I went out and saw the back of the boat was completely filled with water. Apparently a cap that was floating loosely from a batter terminal had floated down and plugged the drain hole. I emptied all the water out and did a quick visual everything looked fine. I started up the motor and it was running really well. All of a sudden white milky residue started coming out of the top of the valve cover out of the hose that goes to the air filter. I quickly shut the motor off and i know what happend. The water came up even with the floor of the boat. (when it was tipped up) some how water must have seeped in to the oil. So i need to drain the oil out of the boat. Where is the drain plug? do i just pull it and let it come out of the dain in the back? Please help i wanted to use the boat this weekend but i dont know how to drain the oil to replace new. Also what else should i check?
thanks

Re: Uh oh!!!!

you can do it 1 of 2 ways
1 buy a $100.00 pump out kit, oil being lighter then water it may leave water in oil pain.
2 pull the bottom plug and let er drain out in the bilge and out the plug hole in the transom.

option 2 obviously comes with a messy cluas, oil stain in the bilge. a can of carb clean should take most that oil slick out and run some water in there afterwards.

i have a 5.8l omc cobra the oil drain plug is at the base of the dip stick its a brass plug about 7/8ths? make sure to get a new oil filter too bound to be water in at by now.

might want to look at your manual for oil the previous owner told me rotella t 40, my manual says straight 30 for 20 degrees+.
