Ummm, I think I have done messed up now...

So, in my efforts to replace the bellows. This 0.69 cents worth of brittle plastic broke off in my hand. It looks like that thing connects through the transom in a location that I have no hope of reaching without damn near taking the engine out. I know it is the oil connection for the lower unit. Any ideas here or part numbers welcome.

Ok, Joking aside, I have broken more of those fittings than most here have even seen.

it's a Mercruiser only part, just go to your local merc dealer and get one. The useless things should be part of a bellows kit, you can't help but break them.

Very Nice, Well Played Sir... I expected a lot of things, but I did not expect Johnny. Its a 99 Chaparral, 4.3L, Alpha 1, GenII. Hey Don, am I going to have to pull off anything to get to this thing at the back of the transom or will my 6'3" go-go-gadget arm be enough? Any gotchas with this thing? The idiot sheet said something about, "Quick release button on gear lube monitor 90? hose fitting may not lock on gimbal housing if touching or depressed by water inlet fitting, or block-off plate, if equipped."

That I can't tell you. Give it a try. IF you can't reach it, you will have to remove things till you can.
