Un-winterizing my outboard

Hi all, I'm just about to put my boat back in the water after a long cold winter. Had the engine "winterized" (lower unit oil changed, engine fogged, stabilizer added etc.) and am now wondering if I have to have it "summerized" before I put it back in. I really would rather not haul it back to the marina (which is what I usually due, hence my ignorance) and am wondering what exactly I have to do to get it going. Is it just a matter of gassing it up? Its a '75 Merc 1150. Thanks!

Re: Un-winterizing my outboard

you should be able to turn the key and go. i'd hook up the hose in the driveway and run it there for a bit to make sure all is well. may want to de-carb the engine, but not really necessary. this is an outboard, right? if not, you may have some plugs to re-install for your cooling system. good luck and enjoy-

Thanks Mattttt! exactly what i wanted to hear. Yep, its an outboard. Kinda makes me wonder what my marina has been dinging me for every spring though. :)

I don't have muffs, is there a trick I could use to hook the hose up for a short while? or is pointing the water at the intake good enough?

Use Muffs! Or a trashcan It does not take much to trash your waterpump.

Walmart and I think Cr*ppy Tire have them pretty cheap.
