Unauthorized download warning

I just received an unauthorized download from an outfit called "whenu", "whenushop". both are www..com, with "whenu" being the home page. The "whenushop" took up the whole screen and if you look, even says how to remove their site.I think this would be considered computer hacking.<br /><br />I am going to notify AOL right away, but I thought I wold pass it along here first. (my favorite site, ask my wife ) <br /><br />It downloaded onto my hard drive and installed itself now I have to go to the uninstall mode to remove their site.<br /><br />I guess a "firewall" would prevent this kind of crap???? No telling what this company can do to the working's of my or your computer.<br /><br />Any thought's?<br /><br /> ...Bob in Calif...

Sounds like a spy wear thing.<br />Earlier this year I had the same thing happen with a site called xjupiter and I had to clean<br />my hard drive because I could not figure out how<br />to delete it.

Thee are a few programs you can use to identify and erradicate spyware:<br /><br />ADAWARE and SPYBOT<br /><br />Both work well, but as with any search and destroy programs, look before you let it delete something!<br /><br />H.
