Under flywheel ignition question.

Hello to all. I have a 1988 28SPL with no spark. The manual I have doesn?t show the type ignition system I have. It appears to be something called UFI or under flywheel ignition. There is no visible power pack. How do I trouble shoot it and or repair it? I have Googled it and it seems OMC used it on a lot of 2 cylinder motors from 1988-1993.

Thanks,

Dan

Re: Under flywheel ignition question.

Thanks for the link, it is a 1989 with the UFI ignition and shows the power pack under the flywheel part #0583896 as limited availability. It looks like that's about all that could be wrong? I unplugged the red harness and spun the engine over with jumper cables but still had no spark. I guess the next step is to pull the flywheel and have a look or should I check anything else first? Thanks for the help.
