Unexpected leak

While winterizing the boat this weekend I found water in one of the storage areas under the seating. It is in the cuddy of the boat. The odd part is that there is no water marks on any of the vinyl headliner anywhere. I pulled all the cushions and there are no signs of water on any of the plywood backing under the cushions. There is no sign of water coming in around the porthole or the deck hatch either.

There was about a gallon of water under the cushion on the starboard side of the boat. The wet carpet was the only sign that it was coming from somewhere else. There is no drain in the storage space so it can't be coming from the bilge. There are no holes in the outside of the hull for it to leak through. The door of the cuddy is always closed, even when I am using the boat so it is not likely to be rain water.

I know there are lost of people with cuddies here. I was wondering the most likely places for water to come from. Could it somehow be coming form the anchor locker ahead of the cuddy? Or could it be leaking at the deck/hull joint?

Rubrail? I'd think any compartment should have a drain hole to the bilge. I had to put two in my Bayliner storage compartments so they would drain.

Two things, we need to know what type of boat it is and pictures of the area will help greatly! Do you have side windows in this boat? If so, that is my number one guess. The locker anchor is suspect to. depending on the boat, the locker may have a thru hull drain to the outside though.
