I have acquired a hull recently, thinking of restoring it. No number on the transom, guy only knows its a 1970.
Thought someone here knows what it is, or could point me the right direction. I appreciate any input.

not sue but maybe some side view pictures might be helpful.

First question everyone is going to ask is what does it say on the title. Your geographical location will help as well. The reason I ask is, if your from Canada you can restore and register as homemade as you will likely do significant work to qualify as home built. If you hale from the US of A then you have a planter...

Not always with a bill of sale in Minnesota no big deal to get it registered.

Thanks roffey
No title. I am in Nova Scotia, Canada.
I have been in contact with the government, they just need the number on the side, bill of sale and my ID, and I will get new paperwork. I am hoping I'll get more info when I get that paperwork. In the meantime, I thought some experience and expert advice from here would help, also.

I'm Canadian as well and have registered several boats. In Canada its much easier in fact I think registering the trailer is harder, lol, and that you can do as homemade as well. As long as Justin gets his tax it's all good.

Looks like a sharp boat, fingers crossed it not to bad.

A few more pics.
I sent off an application for registration to Transport Canada.
Not sure if they just issue a number, or will have info on the hull, manufacturer, etc.
I'll know soon, I guess. (It's the government, probably later, much later.)

Is there a Capacity Plate anywhere on the boat? I have found them on the Floor of some our older boats.

That's a pretty slick looking hull you have there. J Craft which I believe was a go fast Canuck boat comes to mind. I have a buddy that had one very similar that he kept on my property for a while. He had an old 200HP Johnson that would wake the dead when he ran it on the garden hose. It actually cracked the window on the cottage nest door to me. I had to replace the pane. Try finding a Hardware store that cuts window panes and sells window putty. (did I digress again? oh my tell me it ain't so)

I am in Ontario. 1/2 the guys I know have "home made" trailers. Or most the trailer hasn't changed title for the past 5 owners. We generally take the plates off and put it on the new trailer. Trailers are Provincially registered and the boats Federal. Good luck Down Homer, I hope you have deep pockets and can do most all the work yourself. Refurbishing a boat where all you have is a hull ain't for the faint of heart or on a budget. May I ask what you paid for it? What I noticed when we go to Nova Scotia that there is always a boat or 2 or more sitting under trees on properties. Many flower pots. My wifes sister and my BIL law have a beautiful place on Mahon Bay, we were there for 2 weeks in August. Nova Scotia is my 2nd favorite province. The 7 weeks of summer I don't like. Went for a Bday party in Sackville in mid Oct. and ended up on the business end of a snow plow for 2 days and nights, I escaped back to southern Ontario where the leaves had yet to turn colour.

Hey jimmbo
I'm hoping to get started this weekend, I'll keep an eye out for that plate.

Hey ironmaker
I am absolutley brand new to this, but I have time. I paid $100. No big deal if it doesnt work out.
Been watching a lot of restoration videos, havent priced any supplies yet. I'm a little bit excited.
I know I wont see it in the water til next summer, possibly the summer after that.
The wife has some pretty flowers that will look good in it if it turns to crap.

Hello
I've had no luck identifying this hull, so I went ahead and started the demolition to replace the transom, stringers and deck.
I have a few pics of my progress, I have the cap off, all wood removed, and some sanding done. I"ll start a thread in the restoration section soon. There was no capacity plate inside to help with identification, as well, jimmbo.

Before you spend any money on it, out a straight edge on the keel. If it was supported very long in the position on your pictures, the hull may be badly deformed.

I'm in for a summer trip to N.S. Roffey. I can stay at the Bro and Sis in laws guest house on Mahon Bay. Maybe he will take us out fishing on his 52 footer. Bigger than our home. I need to get to Oak Island that has millions of $$ of buried treasure on it. I know the secret to get the treasure.

tdykens If you have never shopped for Marine products you are in for a not so pleasant surprise. If something has the word Marine on it they add another zero. Make yourself a budget and then window shop for what you think you will need then add another couple of grand. Good luck mate, I hope you do it. My dear Grand Father, Nono, said to me when I was a kid "If you have enough money you can make Niagara Falls run backwards."
