Can someone tell me what the black switch is to the right of the throttle in the pic?

It looks like the switch (on my boat) that drains the livewell. Mine is in a different location. Do you have a livewell? If you turn the garden hose on and fill the livewell, does this switch regulate the flow of water out of there?

Is it a toggle switch? Can't tell by the picture. Crank the engine and with it running, flip the switch and if it kills the engine, it is for a safety lanyard that you attach to your life vest when running your boat. If you should leave the seat for whatever reason, it will shut off you engine. Very nice to have, especially when boating alone.

Just lift the toggle, insert your lanyard loop under the toggle and flip it down.

OK a shot in the dark. Its a kill switch for cleaning out the jet pump. You flick that switch and prevent someone from turning over the motor while your hand is in the impeller?

You should know I have never owned a jet boat and know next to nothing about them or if this is even a jet boat. Having said that, what is the make and model of your boat?

MOD EDIT -

Aw man, do we have to play by the rules all the time? Can't we cheat once in awhile?

For those who weren't able to see it, it was a picture.....an attention getting picture....just lovely!

The question was asked. The respondents took pot shots at the answer, not knowing just trying to help a brother in need. One guy admitted his lack of knowledge. One guy tried to help him out. One guy whacked the best part of the whole thing.

So in fact sir, it was on topic the whole time......"buttons" wink, or more specifically, a button, a type of switch and the question was about switches.

My computer had been down all day and cabin fever set in really bad.......time to get the boat out and go fishing again. Popular sport around here these days. Great! The Texas governor said to go fishing and fishing I shall go. So I'll sign off this one while I still can. 😎

Go fishing and think before posting some photos. That was someone's daughter and she may be mine. Think about that for a second.
