Original post on 14 April. After verifying that the battery, solenoids, remote switch, cowling switch, and connections were all good, here is the new status: I have disconnected a pair of wires in the engine compartment that tie in with the remote switch and the cowling switch prior to connecting to the solenoids. They are blue with white stripe and green with white stripe, like the switch wires. With this other set of wires disconnected, both remote and cowling switch operate the trim/tilt just fine. This other set of wires read 4 ohms between each other. I do not know where these wires go. They leave the engine and go into the boat transom in the wiring harness. Does anyone know what these wires are used for? 115 hp, 4 cyl, '95

Re: Up date on Trim/Tilt problem

not really sure but i,ve heard of something called a trim tilt & trailer switch get more info. some engines have the trailer switch on the motor and the remote tilt switch this may be for the other application. it so when you are on land on a trailer you can lift the engine without climbing in the boat
