For those following my adventure on my wifes car.

Finally I took the heads to the local machine shop. They cleaned, milled, and ground the valves. Installed new seals and springs. They said that there were no cracks and the amount of warp was very minimal. Said the leak must have been in the head gaskets.

Yesterday, I spent cleaning parts and the tops of the pistons/block. While I had number 2 piston at BDC, I noticed about an inch up from the top of the piston a small imperfection about an eight of an inch long and about the width of a fine hair on the cylinder wall. The imperfection or crack is so smooth, you cannot feel it at all. Hopefully this is not a crack, but if it is, that could be why the engine was very slow on overheating

It is raining today so I doubt if I get any work done today. Hopefully I'll get it running by the end of this week and all is well.

Thanks to those that have been helping me with this project. :)

Re: Update on 3.5 Intrepid

Did you use a hone on the cylinder to see if it disappears, the type you throw on the end of a electric drill. You might want to try, drop the piston down, cut out a piece of cardboard to fit the hole tape it to the walls real well, use the hone then shop vac very well and remove tape and cardboard, oil before you throw the heads on
