Might be time to check in. Have flushed my YAMAHA F-115 using the built in atachment 4 times now with no bad results. It is a new impeller, I run the thing at idle for 10 to 15 mins and so far everything seems normal. Nice knowing I am really flushing the complete engine instead of wasting my time. Time will tell. regards FRED

Hey Fred ! I always tell our customers if they are able to use "earmuffs" to do that rather than the built in...at idle- I don't believe the 'stat opens but on muffs you can get the motor up to temp

Re: update on fresh water flushing

Would be happy to use muffs but the boat is on a lift and I would wind up knee deep in mud if I tried. Only figured out a month or so ago that water would not go past the stat without it running while on the hose attachment. If this burns up the impeller my next trick will be a small hole or 2 drilled in the stat disk to allow water to pass.
Neighbor has a mid 90s V-6 rude that the manual says he can run at idle while flushing on the attachment, cant be that much of a difference in the system. regards FRED
