Well it has been 3 weeks now that he has been wearing the tick collar for mange. Surprisingly, it has just about gone away. His hair is growing back around his eyes and on the sides of his face. Haven't seen any new areas of hair loss. So I guess the vet that I thought wasn't so with it knows his stuff after all.

He is now 5 months old. 3 wks ago he weighed in around 45 pounds. Yesterday he weighed in at 58! He still is my lap dog even though he takes up the whole chair from arm rest to the other arm rest.

He is so smart for being a pup. When I tell him I've gotta go to work, he gets up and goes to his bed on his own and closes the door to it, plus he does the same when it is bed time.

Yesterday my grandaughter (2yrs old) was over. She was in the back yard with him. She was walking by a big drop off area. Before anyone could get to her, Keeper gets in between her and the drop off and nudges her back into the yard!
When he is with the grandkids, it is like he knows his job is to watch and protect them. Must be the naturally bred in quality of the Newfoundland/Lab. This will be great when we are on the water since they have a natural rescue instinct. I'm not gonna depend on him to do this of course, but extra eyes on watching the kids is always a plus....

Some of my family don't like the name, but they don't live with him....and he is not their dog!
Keeper is a great name and he loves his name, plus it fits his personality after what we witnessed yesterday. Keeping the kids in check....

Thought you would like to hear how the pup was coming along......plus thanks to those on the info you gave me in previous posts.......SS
