Updating Bow Light to LED... connections?

Replacing my original bow light with a new LED model with standard red/black leads. Picture is of the existing wiring... which is the negative (black) connection? Thanks!

Were not going to be able to tell you from the pic. Connect it one way and if it works your good, if not switch.

Could use a 9V battery to light it up

the positive should be the wire on the bottom of the socket, get a voltmeter and measure. It should not hurt the LED if you wire it backwards, it just won't work.
