I'm wondering if some experts here can advise me about my upgrade options from my older evinrude. I've got it on a Crestliner 18' right now, and I'd really like to find something different for next season. The boat works perfectly fine, great load capacity and I don't need anything nicer....except the motor is not real friendly around the dock, and sometimes tricky to start.
I'd like to get a fuel injected motor of some sort, and I'm open to all options, but if I could utilize my existing rigging(or close), that would be great. I've seen some OK prices for an etec, yamaha, etc.....I'd like to stay in the 5k range, but flexible...I don't really want to put 10k into repowering this boat. I will hang the new one myself.
