Ayuh,.... The Only up-grade for that motor is yankin' it out, 'n droppin' in a 3.0l.....

Ayuh,.... I never said the 2.5l ain't a dependable motor,...

You asked how to Up-grade it, 'n that's the question I answered...

yep, the 3.0L is a drop in swap and direct replacement for the 2.5L that will give you 15% more power.
You'll need a 3.0L 1974-1989. You may be able to use your existing manifold depending on what head is on the 3.0L you find.
Any 1990 or newer 3.0L will not bolt up to your drive coupler.


As for mods to the 2.5/120: no, that motor is already making every bit of power it has in it.

Thanks guys i made up my mind a 3.0L it is... is hard to let go at things that been good to you specially when trustee in the water
