Upgrading/Swapping The Heads On Trolling Motors

Last weekend I bought a Minn Kota Endura C2 55lb trolling motor to replace my 45lb Endura Max as the 45 struggled to push my Mariner 4 up the river when the current was strong. Since the 45 has the digital maximizer and the 55lb does not I was thinking of swapping the heads out because i like the fluid max twist of the handle rather than the 5 speed clicks. That being said does anyone have any input if you think this would work or not? I figured since they both have the same voltage, shaft length, etc. it would work since the motor is housed down by the prop but I could be wrong. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks all!

yep, it should work. here are extra wires on the non-maximizer version, you should only need to use red and black IIRC. The non-maximizer head is very simple, no resistors or anything, just a multi position switch that activates different windings. Red and black are full power, so the PWM maximizer head should work. (Assuming the maximizer head actually has the PWM controller, if it is housed on the motor you won't be gaining anything.)
