upgrading to newer engine

i hava a 1991 162 sc princecraft with a 1993 50hp <br />johnson 2 stroke oil injection powertrim and would like to know if a 2001 johnson 35hp oil injection powertrim 2 stoke would perform well<br />also is their any known problems with the 35 johnson

Ahoy, Tucker.<br /><br />I am not familiar with your boat. Check for a ratings plate that will give the recommended max hp.<br /><br />Most boats perform well with 60-70% of rated hp.<br /><br />If you have no rating plate I would recommend sticking with 50hp.<br /><br />Good luck.
