IMPORTANT: If while accomplishing the preceding procedure the preload goes over the specified limit 6-10 lb. in. (.7-1.1 N.m) the bearings must be TOTALLY SEPARATED FROM THE GEAR and reassembled following the instructions. Failure to follow these instructions will cause premature failure of the unit. Ok my question why would you have to totaly separate the bearings why couldnt you just take the preload off the bearings by pulling one bearing or mabe just hold the top bearing and give the back of the gear a good smack with a mallet to lossen it off? Then proceed to resete it again? I just cant see why you would have to take it all apart! Ive just finished mine up got it set to 9inlbs the first shoot so im not having to do this but just curious i geass!!
