Urgent - Drive Upper Kit - broken teeth!

I have a broken teeth in my Drive Upper Kit, Part number 21130692, the question is:

Can I use the drive still -after cleaning- for few weeks while the part is shipped (trying to save lots of $s by buying from abroad).

Ayuh,.... It's yer drive, You can do anything ya want to it,....

It Will consume itself in short order if ya run it though,.....

you can use it, however the gear will eat themselves quickly which will destroy everything else quickly as Bondo stated.

I wouldnt run it.

Do you know what caused the gears to go bad. Is it something we should all be worried about. Also where are you getting the new ones I am always looking for a new place to save a few bucks. Thanks Allan
