I'm wondering if it's a good idea to decarb the engine before winterizing, or should I decarb in the spring?

I think it would be a good idea. No sense letting the carbon sit there all winter and get harder. I'm gonna at least run a can in the last tank I use this season...

I usually will do somewhat of a decarb before winter. As long as I am running the motor anyways it doesnt take much extra work. Aft the decarb I then fog the motor and run the rest of the fuel out of the system. Then in spring I put new plugs in to replace the ones used in the decarb/fog process.

I just bought my first boat and someone recommended seafoam to me. I read the can and I'm sure it said prevents seperation or good for winterizing. I took it to mean that it was better than your regular elcheepo stuff.
