Hey everyone, i'm in the market for a new/used fishing boat, i'm looking at a 24' seaswirl striper with a 5.0 i/o, i've also looked at a 25' proline walkaround. I really like the layout of the proline and it seems like they have been around for a while. The only problem i have is i'm looking for an i/o as i plan on trailering this boat and i personally prefer the i/o. i am also looking for one with no bottom paint, a trailer, and the hard top. I would prefer the dual prop as well. I've searched the internet for the proline with an i/o and a couple other walkarounds and it seems that all the company's have gone to outboards. i'm just wondering if there is a good walkaround boat out there with i/o other than the seaswirl striper. any help is greatly appreciated

Trophy makes a walkaround with an I/O. However, what you are seeing is that most fishermen and fishing applications tend to favor the outboard over the I/O. The Walkaround model is primarily a fishing design, hence the outboard preference. There are I/O's out there, but they are a small minority compared to the outboards.

Re: Used boat, whats the best walkaround

I have a Parker 2110 walk around that I am very happy with. Mine has an O/B. While I was looking for a boat I spoke with some marine mechanics and they all advised me to go with an O/B. They told me that the O/B are more reliable and eaiser to service. I am no expert this is why I asked the mechanics for some advise. Hope this helps you out.

Good luck.

Everyone knows that Grady makes the best W/A??..then again I?m a bit bias :D

Albemarle. The only I/O fishing boat I'd consider.
