I posted this in boat question section as well since just wondering if anyone has input on this brand or model?

Never owned a pontoon before but was looking for inexpensive used one to leave at lake for use with family. Is anyone familiar with this brand or any input would be great. Just looking for something to cruise around lake and fish. Do any pontoon experts have any opinions on this model? I see that they talk about the hexagon shape toons with this brand as well. I do not know what the pros or cons are of shape or size toons?

1997 Ercoa 19' Ensign Fish Model w/ 1997 35hp Johnson tilt & trim. He is asking $3795.00 for this pontoon.

Seems to be in great shape visually and has had 1 owner.

Seems pretty reasonable. I have never heard of hex tubes though. Odd. The biggest thing to check on the boat is for dents or repairs on the tubes. Check the deck to see if the plywood is soft at all. There's not much you can hide on a pontoon boat but I'm no expert. Others may weigh in. Make sure the engine runs. I'd check the compression on the engine to be safe. Make sure he has all the papers.

Re: Used Pontoon? Ercoa?

Thanks for the input. Apparently Ercoa if known for hex shaped pontoons.....this is from their site below.

You'll notice our pontoons are different right away. They're six-sided instead of round, we call them Hextoons.

Ercoa uses only hexagon pontoons throughout it's entire line of pontoon boats. When you compare the round pontoons with our hextoon, you'll notice our hextoon is 20% larger and has a flat bottom. This increases buoyancy and, more important, lift.

There are a lot of Ercoas around Mn and WI. They have been around for a while.. At the HP you are talking about, you won't see any difference between the hex and the round tubes. They seem to be a nice toon. Not as high end as a Premier but well built nonetheless..

My toon has oxtagonal tubes from a local/regional builder.
