Hey is it ok to trim up the outdrive all the way in a shallow area and still use the boat to dock ??

My dock is in a shallow area when i trim it all the way up i can slip in But when i get realy close to the dock i shut the motor off and triming it up Into trailer mode. When its that high i dont have it in drive.

Is doing thais ok? Dont want to wreck my new boat. And dread having to pole my self away from the dock...

I would think that as long as your prop is not in the mud and your intakes are underwater you should be fine.

Don't run the engine with the prop all the way up. U-joints don't like those sorts of extreme angles. You could snap a u-joint, especially if under load, or even worse damage the ears on one of the yokes or cardan joint. Tilting up above normal operating range is alright for just idle power but no more, and don't go all the way up.

Yea i dont go fast at all just enuf speed to be able to manuver. And its just when docking. I think im going to extend my dock to make mooring easyer.
