I'm trying to figure out if I can use my multimeter as a DVA.
I've been reading a lot of the old posts on Peak Reading Voltmeters (DVAs), and I think I understand their function now. I have a EUI ADM 4200 automotive meter, and it seems to be pretty sophisticated. The function I believe this meter has that can be used as a DVA is a record function which will store the voltages recorded (stores the min, max and avg).
From what I understand, the purpose of the peak reading meter is to display voltages of of very short time periods (miliseconds), something capable of being seen on an analog needle display VOM, but not on a digi display.
My meter is a few years old, and I've tried to locate a DVA adapter for it, but I've had no luck. Now im wondering though, if I even need one?
I hope the image helps.
Thanks in advance!
