I have a 19' 1996 Wellcraft I/O, its got a small swim platform all the way across the back, its also has a one step ladder that slides up and snaps out of the way, now im wondering since the ladder is too short to easily climb out of the water, would it hurt the transom/outdrive if we stepped on it just so one could get on that first rung of the ladder?

I thought it would be ok, the more i think about it, the transom in under alot more stress when underway, alot more than my skinny butt 13 and 10 year old will ever put on it, or even my (not so skinny butt) :D:D thanks for the reply

We always used the outboard as a step too. One caution: that thing can be slippery and when you slip off of it, you can get a nasty scrape on your leg from the AV plate and also slice your foot on the edge of the prop. BTDT.
