Howdy, Sailboaty.

It depends on what engine you have. Most engines are only good to warm or keep warm precooked stuff.

My Mentor, Hugh Carter, would wrap a small potroast, a few chunks of apple, potato, carrot, onion and a bunch of herbs and spices all in aluminum foil and stuff the package up against the block of his ancient Johnny opposed twin and leave it there all day. Worked just like a crock pot. :)

Modern engines have so much stuff in so little space I don't know what to recommend.

I have this little space next to the sparkplugs against the thing that holds the cylanders on my motor, ( I need to know what that is called is that the engine block?) it is the right side to hold a hot dock and bun. would that work??? we should get some people to share there favorite engine "recibes" that wayI won't have to bow myself up with a kero stove in the gally thats foolof wood and other explosive stuff. ;)

because outboards are raw water cooled.. they are not that useful, after all, how well can it cook if you can touch the head for 5 seconds without burning yourself?

if you had an inboard you'd have a much better chance..

would work as a warmer though..

rgds

Frank

I used to do that when I werked for a seawall company. I would cook steaks, hotdogs, reheat spagetti and other leftovers, on the manifold of the American dragline I ran. Some turned out really good, but i'm no chef :D

I've cooked under the hoods of cars & trucks but never an O/B. I don't think there would be sufficient heat or space.

c/6

Hooty
