I have seen a white calk used in sealing commercial silicone sheet roofing. It is called "elastomeric". It is more stretchy than silicone.
I am wondering if it is compatable with the aluminum in the hull which it would be applied to ? Silicone has acetic acid in it I know.
has anyone used this on an aluminum hull ?
I want something which can be removed easily later. Someone at west marine suggested the flexible epoxy. I have a small gap on the inside where the hull plates come together which looks like it will be a dirt harbor. About 1/8 wide. The sealant may be either under or over the paint.
- depending if its paintable. Epoxy there would be a nightmare for a future owner...... probably damage the hull trying to get it out.
