On your side of the pond there are a couple of spares stores that ship to the UK. This is great news for us here as often the spares we get here are over inflated in value and are often NOT original Merc equipment. So more often than not we can procure spares including shipping from the US cheaper than here in the UK. My question is firstly does anyone know of a good supplier of original equipment at reasonable prices in the UK and secondly I recognise the company name UPS as it is big over here but am I correct in thinking USPS is your domestic Postal Service.

Regards Keith B... ;)

Here in the States, UPS is usually better than USPS.

United Parcel Service
United States Postal Service

UPS is an international entity that operates as one. USPS has to deal with foreign postal services for deliveries and often you pay twice, once for each country. I'd bet UPS is faster, too.

Here in Denmark UPS is VERY expensive, small parcel at around half a kilo, was almost 60 US$, UPS then chargede me yet another 30US$ for their services here at my end, these guys really overcharge, and I have used them for the last time.

Re: USPS or UPS

Here in the US, it is cheaper to send smaller packages with the USPS, sometimes by a great deal. Beyond about five pounds, UPS becomes more economical. I have found all this out the hard way by doing a lot of eBay shipping. Internationally, the situation seems to be similar based upon my experience, but I would not swear to it for each case, so a person should do some research before making a choice, as usually. Sounds like UPS does not have a uniform policy (Denmark), while national postal services are governed by international agreements leading to more uniform pricing. So UPS is NOT always the best way to go. (The sad thing is that many companies opt for a UPS only delivery system, because of convenience, even if the buyer has to pay much more in some cases.)
