Re: Utah
Flathead;

Here is what I'd suggest for your trip through Utah;
1. Just east of Vernal, Utah go to Dinosaur Nat. Monument. It's really worth half a day.
2. Then head west on highway 40 past Strawberry Res. (4 to 15+ lb. rainbow and cutthroat trout on flies) and then over Daniel's Pass (8000') and down into Heber City. Continue NW on HWY 40 past Jordanelle Res. to Park City and visit the Olympic sites and the town...then go to I-80 and head west 23 miles to Salt Lake City for the night. Visit iboats!!!
3. Head south on I-15 for 42 miles, past Provo to Spanish Fork. Go ESE on HWY 6/89 up Spanish Fork Canyon. Go 12 miles to turn off of HWY 89 to the right. Take 89 toward Fairview, Mt. Pleasant, Ephraim and Gunnison. Continue south on 89 to Aurora and on South. Turn South (left) onto HWY 24 toward Vermillion and Sigurd and on south on 24 to Loa, Lyman, and Torrey. Continue east and into Capital Reef Nat. Park. A must! Then head back west to Torrey and then head south on HWY 12 through the small towns of Grover, Boulder, Escalante and Tropic and into Bryce Canyon. A Must! Stay at Rubys Inn.
4. From Bryce head west on highway 12 to HWY 89. Go south on 89 through Hatch, Glendale and Orderville to HWY 9. Then go west on HWY 9 into Zion National Park. A Must! Then continue west on 9 from Zion to the town of Hurricane and then on to St. George. Then head south for 1 and 1/2 hours to Las Vegas.

This is a beautiful trip so take plenty of film with you. It can be hot in July in Utah...but NO humidity, for the 85 to 95 degrees feels very pleasent. From St George to Vegas it will be 100 to 115+ so be ready for it! Have a great trip and make sure to call us so that we can meet you when you are in SLC.

BV
