Far out Cyclops , my fridge reeked of fish other day , my Mrs had bought a tin of kippers ....in olive oil ....not even tomato sauce ,opened it, remembered (or learnt all over again ....who would know ) that she doesnt like tinned fish and hides it behind the beer , ha ha. Yeah , didnt take long to find .😁
85⁰f is about 30⁰c.......she has the lounge hotter than that . Im sittin there in my undies ,sweat cascading down me , (desperately trying to maintain a safe body temp and hydration level with chilled beer )😁 and she's in a fleece dressing gown shoving another bit of wood on the fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I am dying. It is 85 in the shade.
It’s all relative…

We’ve had air temps right around 100F with high dew points for the past 4 days. Had a “feels like” temp of 108F yesterday.

Mrs. Dingbat and I had a very enjoyable evening at the pool last night after being held up in the house most of the day with the AC on.

The air temp was 86F. Pool water was 83F
The air temp was enjoyable…..the water was cold

My pool is at about 85* right now air temp about 95*. Something odd maybe related maybe not; lights in the house were dim; I plugged in my AC volt meter and the house voltage ranged from 105-108v! Called PSEG Long Island and they took care of it. Not sure what the cause was or if it was heat related….

I had about 104 with a feel like of 111. How do I know that? Instead of swimming in the pool I was replumbing it so we could open it.

In about 15 hours... I'll be floating tonight.

It's something new every Spring.
Last year it was the pump seal and a leaking filter "key".

This Spring, filter key "repair was leaking again.
Bought new...all good now

It's called a "Brown Out"..........demand exceeding Supply.

Quite often done on purpose to manage the load on an overburdened system.

That's what I thought.
You call PSEG LI and you have 2 options, either report a service outage or report a downed wire/emergency
To get to talk to a person, I had to do #2 even though it's not an emergency
A truck came by last nite, don't know what they did
this morning it was up to 119V
Now, back down to 106V
and I think we pay the highest rates in the country.....

Hovering around 100 with high humidity and blazing sun the last three afternoons . Hit the lake at 4:30 this AM to beat the heat. I was getting 80* water temps.

The family business is pools funny enough. (I do it on the side for extra cash, my full time job is water adjacent) We actually got a new heater hence the replumb. (was pretty far down the list to get going) And yeah, truck said 101 backing into the driveway. And I'm about to suite up in a tyvek and go install headliner in the 4 winns. :p

Last year at the plant during the heatwave JCP&L did a 15% load shed test to see if everything would still run. Some of the VFDs complained but for the most part it went unnoticed. We also have 3 CATs if things get too sketchy...

Just checking in ... we have about 90 kids this week at Camp ... trying to keep them cool and still have fun is a challenge ... but they have been great kids and have been very understanding with what we are doing with them ... lots of dodge ball and volleyball inside the A/Ced gym!

I think a woman's body stops regulating its temp after menapause. Our A/C keeps our home at 71/72 degrees no matter how hot it gets outside. Yes we have been mid to upper 90's the past few days. At one point she was freezing and wrapped up in a blanket....a few hours later she was sitting in front if a fan with sweat running down her face ! She has been back and forth like this for the past few weeks, all this time the thermostat stays untouched at 71/72 degrees......I can't win......

If I could keep my house at 68 year round I would. Very difficult in the summer. The Air BNB we stayed at was regulated to 75 and I woke up in a pool (looked like I wet the bed) of sweat. That was sleeping with no cover too. My girlfriend calls me the furnace since I run very, very hot.
