Re: V4 90 Prop ?

Depends on your boat. What ya got? I've got a 13-1/4 X 17 Turning Point Hustler on mine and I'm very pleased with it. You want a pitch that will allow your motor to reach it's recommended wide open throttle RPM range with your typical load. I believe with your motor that's around 5000-5500 RPM. If it can't hit that range, you could be lugging the motor which is bad for it. As, of course, is overevving it.

Re: V4 90 Prop ?

I would start with a 17 pitch also. I use a 13.2X17P SST prop on a 16ft glass V hull. With 3 adults, fishing gear, coolers, 12gal of fuel, and other stuff, I can run 5200rpm@36/37 mph(gps). I still want to try a 15p, but Im still looking for a used one to try.

Without WOT rpm, and mph, with your normal load, and of course type of boat, its hard to say.

Thanks for the info, The motor is on a 1981 Larson runabout 21'. I can get a 14/13 3 blade used. Not sure if this ws the stock prop or not. I'm new to the boat world.

That motor is going to be a real dog on a 21' fiberglass. That's pretty underpowered.
