Hi l

Looks like I have to rebuild my engine, what is he correct procedure.

Obviously I will remove all cables and pipes connected between boat an engine.

Do I then remove manifolds, undo engine mounts and lift out or is it more complicated

Thanks in advance

Remove the outdrive first. Do everything you mentioned above. There are two rear mounting bolts that have to come out and two fwd engine mounts. Remove the top nut from both fwd mounts. You can leave the manifolds on but removing them will make for a lighter lift. If you have room and strong lifting platform, leave them on til the engine is out.

Hi thanks

Ok doesn't sound to bad

When putting engine back does it need to be allined or will it just go back on mounts as I will not need to move the adjusters

The single most important item, both after engine install and yearly maintenance is: Engine alignment!
Get a manual for your engine/outdrive from the 'adult only' section. Read them both or you will probably be doing the job again to replace the engine coupler.

Yes I would recommend it even if you didn't remove the engine. I bought one off ebay and use it every season before I reinstall the drive.
