V8 Fuel supply Modified ??

Hello

I am installing the new 4 wire VRO pumps to my 92 300 HP Johnson.
It appears that the fuel supply lines were modified by the previous owner. After the VRO Pumps there is a cross over supply H type fitting that was constructed to provide supply from either pump should one fail.
I can tell this is not a factory setup as the parts are hand made.

The question is would you keep this in the set up the fuel system? It's been running fine and has no fuel delivery problems.

That was the way OMC did it. The parts may be home made now but that was the way it was from the factory.

Thanks Mr Dhadley!!! Your expertise is greatly appreciated. I also noted in a photo of a V8 that there was a white device just above the lower pump. It looked almost like a filter. Do you know if that's what it was, or am I missing something?

That probably was a filter but if it's not there I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure you have a good one in the boat. The less fuel restrictions the better. Nothing but straight 3/8" ID fittings, no bulhead connectors, no primer bulb, no hose smaller than 3/8" ID.
