i need to vaccumm/pressure test a volvo 275 outdrive....where can i buy the vaccum/pressure test machine?

i understand your example...though i only see this way working for a pressure test...what about a vaccum test?

I would think you could rig any brake bleeder pump to pull enough vaccuum to test it.

Vacuum testing is seldom needed, 99.99% of the leaks can be found with using the pressure test alone.
Even with a vacuum test, you would only get 4 or 5 inches of vacuum because the input shaft seal at the ujoints is not designed to hold vacuum.

so in other words if the input shaft seal at the ujoint is not designed to hold vacumm then even if bellows are leaking water would not through the input shaft seal? or could it ?

My understanding is that as the outdrive cools after use, it can cause enough of a vacuum that it will suck air/water from the bellows. So if the bellows is leaking water, the outdrive will suck in some of that water, even though the seal is good.
