Merc 140 1984 vintage has a clear plastic tube to
air horn from fuel pump/filter.
It had gunk in it from storage but doesnt seem to have anything new flowing in it now that the
boat has come out of 15 years of storage.
Will a fuel pump deteriorate just sitting with gas in it?
What would I be looking for oil or gas?
If this tube is ok now does that mean everything is ok?
Thanks in advance

That's just a vent/ gas escape.. in case of a fuel pump diaphram failure...
There Should be Nothing in it but Air...
