I have a 1998 17 ft champion bass boat hull. New transom. Everything on boat is gorgeous. Wanting to sell it, boat hull only. Blue book value puts it between $1600 to $1800. No motor or trolling. How much is a fair price to ask for it? Please help by giving me a amount that would be fair.

You'll never get that for it. The hull has little to no value with no motor.

no motor or trolling motor or controls sitting on the trailer. you have a $300 boat and trailer combination at best.

I agree. A boat and trailer without a motor is only worth what the trailer is worth. :(

I agree not much value other than the trailer.

Seriously you think this neglected boat is gorgeous? So what was the reason for someone to strip a "gorgeous" boat down to being just a hull?

Is it just my screen or do the seats look pretty beat up? No engine, trailer can't quite tell the condition, I see rust on the bow hook and I think on the trailer too, looks like several holes missing something including the light on the front of the bow. It may be a very nominal amount of money. I think Gorgeous is Craigslist translated to 'still floats'.

What I meant by gorgeous is that yes it does float, that's not the trailer for it. And I was given the boat because the transom was bad. Transom has been replaced. I haven't cleaned it up yet. All carpet, storage, decals and boat is rock solid stringers to the transom. Biggest Reason I say gorgeous also is mainly because I always wanted one like this. I love champion boats, and this one perfect size and color for me. I am disabled from a spinal cord injury in 2014 while working on my 22nd year of law enforcement. I was lucky enough to get early disability retirement from sheriffs department. But, my pay, disability checks are not what my regular paycheck was. Plus hospital bills, doctors, prescriptions and physical therapy cost. What I'm saying is that I could never afford to put a motor, controls, or steering on it. So, might sound silly, but this boat is the boat I always wanted, and even having the hull and a trailer for it, in my name, I still can't afford it. I guess gorgeous is in the eye of the beholder. It kills me not to be able to use it myself, but I have a big family, 4 kids plus their friends who never seemed to want to leave, which is cool because if there here, I know their not getting in trouble. And my wife is on disability also for some very painful disease, a visibly notable disease, not a invisible back pain. Me my neck was broken from c-3 level to c-7 level with spinal cord damage. Sorry for long post. Just trying to explain why I picked the word gorgeous.

Jkust, I don't understand the smug remark in reference to Craigslist. I simply asked a question about what the value of a boat I like would be. No rust on boat eye, it's stainless steel, boat seats dirty. I guess I should be in awe of your opinion because of some unknown reason. And that your views are golden. Not everyone can afford a awesome boat like yours. And I guess I set myself up for insults by asking an opinion. I did not ask about the price of trailer. So what I gather is that if I can find a motor, say a 1971 90 hp Chrysler, I could probably get about 4 grand for it.
