Hey folks,

I've been lurking here for awahile and enjoy all the info available on these forums. I have a question that I'm sure someone can verify for me on the Mercury Vengeance SS props. I had a 10x13 SS on my 50hp tracker and last weekend I spun it off in the marina. Unfortunately, the marina is in 80' of water and free dive is not an option for recovery. I have a friend scuba certified but he said it still may be difficult to recover depending on settling, clarity, and drift distance based on the depth.

Can one of you who has this series of prop tell me if it is magnetic? I know this depends on the amount of chromium and nickel blended into the stainless steel but if it is magnetic, my chances of recovery go up significantly. I'm sure I'll find lots of other stuff too if I throw a magnet out.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks Pootnic. I'll put my old aluminum prop on and make a day of it. If I waste 30 minutes with a magnet on a fishing pole, oh well. I found a 32lb pull magnet on ebay cheap so no harm no foul if i don't find it.
