Hey again

I recently bought this propeller mercury vengence 48 19644 A5
http://www.crowleymarine.com/parts/173202.cfm

Mercury Marine Vengeance #48-19644A5 Stainless Steel Boat Propeller Application Guide - iboats

Supposedly from a 1998 mercury 25hp

I have a 25hp tohatsu which is the same as the seapro 25hp

But it doesn't fit my 25hp tohatsu?? I also have a 1986 Mariner(japanese) 25hp and it doesn't fit that either.

They are both 10 splines but the prop will not slide on, even if i was to slide the prop on it would not fit into the gearcase as it is to large

From all the information that i have found online and by talking to several mercury dealer the prop should fit?

Can anyone shed some light on this situation.

My first thought is it is miss packaged and is intended for a big foot.

Re: Very confused prop doesn't fit

I looked up merc and Tohatsu 25 2 stroke 1998 props they are not the same. The numbers are different
merc 12" by Solas is 1211-103-12 Tohatsu 12" is 5211-099-12. Merc is 10 3/10 X 12 Tohatsu is 9 9/10 X 12
In posts about Tohatsu built Mercs I see the phrase "powerhead built by Tohatsu."
This would seem to indicate a Merc gear case.

Hi

Yea they have different model numbers but they do fit.

I went down to the local marine mechanic today who has a 25hp seapro and it is identical to my 25hp tohatsu, except the sea pros run a 10 3/8 x 13 prop and the tohatsu runs a 9.9x13 prop, but they are most definitely interchangeable.

But yours doesn't work, so its not the right prop?Did it fit his Sea pro?
If it fits his Sea Pro and not your Tohatsu than the Tohatsu is at fault.
The old posts I looked up there was some discussion about different components on the Merc version, early on.
