I own a 19 ft Rinker with a 4.3 Volvo with a sx out drive. My problem is have been dealing with since I bought the boat several years ago is that the engine/exhaust sound is VERY VERY loud, seems like the exhaust is being ported above the water line creating a loud and very unpleasant boating experience. The engine compartment is well insulated. I spoke to my dealer (who I have no faith in anyways) and he said that was the way the Volvo's are and there was nothing he could to to rectify it. I am at the point where, since I am not as young as I use to be, the noise is deafening and I may end up selling the boat due to the noise. Does anyone have any know recommendations (noise dampening parts???), hints, tips, work arounds to help with me with this situation! I would be forever grateful....
